Act For Solutions (AFS) engages poor communities in a way that addresses and responds to their needs. In this regard, AFS carries out assessments on the community capacity needs for their empowerment. Furthermore, AFS carries out research on the knowledge of the grassroots communities on causes and impacts of climate change. Finally, AFS assesses the causes of food insecurity and helps grassroots communities to decide possible eradication strategies to be adopted for community resilient and sustainability of initiatives.
AFS builds the capacity of grassroots communities in saving and entrepreneurship for diversification of income generating activities towards poverty reduction and food security. It empowers women and youth with knowledge and skills on sustainable use of natural resources for mitigation of climate change impact as a strategy for domestication and implementation of SDGs at the lowest level. Identify and train focal persons at the grassroots level on environmental protection.
The organization shares research findings with local, regional and international stakeholders including policy makers for planning purposes based on the needs in place. It informs also the community members and local leaders about the importance of inclusive planning. Finally, AFS advocates for inclusive planning and implementation of developmental projects to ensure that they are responding to communities needs
